The swimming pool experts since 1999.

We started in a small shop in Rynfield, Benoni. Today we run two Benoni stores, an online store that delivers across South Africa, our own service team on the East Rand, and a fulfilment centre that stocks and ships for other pool stores. One idea runs through all of it: you swim more, and stress less.

Our story

From one small shop in Rynfield

Pool Pond Spa was founded in 1999, in a small shop in Rynfield, Benoni. From the start, the aim was to stock the brands pool owners trust, and to test water properly, so you only buy what your pool actually needs.

Pool Pond Spa grew into a group of stores across the East and South Rand, each with electronic water testing. Many East Rand pool owners still know us as Pool Pond Spa Freeway Park, in Boksburg.

Pool retail has changed a lot since then, and so have we. Our stores are back where we started, in Benoni, and the business is built around how people look after their pools today: some walk into a store, more order online, many want the job done for them, and a growing number of online pool stores need a reliable warehouse behind them.

Clean ups, weekly maintenance, sand changes, inspections, and pump, filter and solar installs across the East Rand, by James, Ishmael and Lucious.

We buy, store, pack and ship for a group of partner pool stores, and train the people who run them.

How it works

Our promise

You swim more. We take care of the stress.

Pool care should be the easy part of owning a pool. That has been the aim since day one, and it's why our message is simply: swim more, stress less.

  • Test first, then buy. Bring a water sample to either store. We test it electronically and tell you exactly what to add for your pool size, and what you don't need.
  • Sized for your pool. We match pumps, filters, chlorinators and heat pumps to your pool, so you buy the right one the first time.
  • Warranties handled properly. Every claim is tested by the manufacturer, and for the first 6 months your claim comes through us. If our team installed it, we look after it on site for 12 months.
  • New stock, fitted properly. Our team only installs new stock, never second hand, and never opens a pump or filter on site, because the manufacturer treats that as tampering.
  • A real person on WhatsApp. Send us a photo of your water or your equipment, and our team answers.

Not every online pool store holds its own stock. A group of them are supplied by us: we buy the stock, keep it in our warehouse, pack and send out every order, and train the people who run those stores.

Two labels, so you know who you're dealing with

Operated by PPSThe store runs under the Pool Pond Spa name. We handle the stock, the orders and the support.
Fulfilled by PPSThe store is run independently. We supply, pack and ship its orders.

Either way, the products come from our stock, and returns and warranties follow the manufacturer's rules, handled the Pool Pond Spa way. If a store says it's linked to us and you're not sure, ask us before you pay.

Yes, it's the same Pool Pond Spa. The Freeway Park shop counter in Boksburg has closed, but the team behind it hasn't gone anywhere. Our service team still works from Boksburg, and you can book it on ppsfp.co.za. For products, visit us in Rynfield or Brentwood Park, or shop online.
When and where did Pool Pond Spa start?
In 1999, in a small shop in Rynfield, Benoni. We're still in Rynfield today, at Rynfield Value Mall, and we have a second store in Brentwood Park.

Do you sell to customers outside South Africa?
Yes. Many of our customers are in Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Orders from outside South Africa are collection only: you pay the listed price, collect from Rynfield or Brentwood Park, and arrange your own transport.
